BEA in New York City
I recently traveled to The Big Apple to attend BEA. For those of you who are not familiar with this event, it’s Book Expo America, one of the largest gatherings of agents, booksellers, authors in the country. The highlight of my trip was most definitely perusing the conference (and city) with a group of exceptional writers, editors and authors. In addition, I had some fantastic meetings with journalists and publishers.
The amazing women in this photo include (from left), Lightbox PR partner Jeanna Zelin (that’s me), House of Six Doors author Patricia Selbert http://journalbythesea.com/, Mercury Press International editor Nancy Black, New Paradigm Writing, Editing, and Coaching Services founder/ceo/Bestselling Editor Nancy Marriot, Panther Productions, Inc. CEO Deborah Hutchinson and http://www.writetocarrie.com/carries-blog/ writer Carrie Netzer Wajda.
I loved meeting writer Carrie Sloan as well. I have followed her work for quite some time and actually meeting her in person confirmed my feeling about her. She is an authentic and genuine person–the real deal. Beautiful inside and out and can sniff out a story from a mile away. She is also very present. I learned so much from her in just that one meeting. A wise woman and incredible writer. Check out her blog on Lemondrop: http://www.lemondrop.com/bloggers/carrie-sloan/.
